The physics discipline in Chongqing University (CQU) is one of the three earliest disciplines in 1929 when CQU was established. With the reorganization of the Chinese system of higher education in 1952, the physics discipline in CQU was migrated to Sichuan University, and it was lately recovered in 1977.
