Materials physics is an emerging interdisciplinary discipline that provides the structure, properties and performance of materials from the principles of physics, mainly oriented to the exploration of new functional materials such as new energy and new information, to provide perfect and systematic theoretical guidance and technical guarantee for the sustainable development of new materials. This direction mainly carries out the following aspects of research:
1) research on nano-energy materials and devices, including nanogenerators and self-driven sensors, flexible fiber power generation units and energy storage unit integration, etc..
2) new materials exploration of strongly correlated electronic systems, superconductivity properties research and multi-iron and magnetoelectric coupling behavior.
3) fundamental frontier research on semiconductor materials in solar cells, LED, thermoelectric energy conversion technology, catalysis, sensing and superhydrophobic applications.
4) research, development and application of new technologies for environmental assessment, environmental remediation and pollution treatment.
