Condensed matter physics is one of the most important secondary disciplines in the School of Physics. In 2003, we were granted a PhD degree in Condensed Matter Physics, which is the first PhD program in the School of Physics. The current research areas of condensed matter physics include condensed matter theory, defect structure and properties, quantum Hall effect, multi-body quantum correlation, material properties and first principle calculations for material design.
