报告内容简介:In the last decades, density-matrix renormalization group (DMRG) method shows the power of depicting states of low-dimensional quantum systems in or out of equilibrium with incredible precision. Infinite DMRG, as one of outstanding algorithms, targets the wave function translation invariant by a certain unit-cell in the thermodynamical limit and has been generalized into the application on several 1D and 2D quantum systems.

In this talk, I will first introduce elementary ideas of the conventional DMRG on two aspects: (1) Successfully applications in 1D; (2) Challenge in 2D. Secondly, I will extend our discussion to the infinite DMRG in the thermodynamical limit.

报告人简介:胡时杰博士本科毕业于武汉大学,2010年中科院理论物理所博士毕业,师从王孝群教授(杰青)。之后,先后在德国哥廷根大学,马克斯普朗克复杂系统物理所和凯泽斯劳腾理工大学进行博士后研究。胡时杰博士在密度矩阵重整化群方法上有长达10多年的积累,共发表《 Physics Review Letter 4
