Research interests and achievements
Lu's main research areas include thermoelectric materials, and intrinsic physical transport mechanisms such as electrical and thermal conductivity of bulk materials. Together with his supervisor Prof. Donald Morelli, Dr. Lu has proposed a new idea of using minerals directly as thermoelectric materials, which has caused a big reaction in the international thermoelectric community. So far, he has published more than 50 SCI articles on thermoelectric materials and has been invited to write a book on thermoelectric materials in English (Materials Aspect of Thermoelectricity, CRC Press, LLC, 2016). Among them, we have published more than ten original papers on zoisite based thermoelectric materials as first author/corresponding author, and the related work has laid the foundation of zoisite based thermoelectric materials research. The research has received attention from domestic and international peers, with more than 500 citations in total; and two US patents on zoisite materials have been granted. At present, he has hosted two National Natural Science Foundation of China and one Provincial Natural Science Foundation.
