Young Sun

Prof. Young Sun obtained his bachelor (1996) and PhD (2001) degrees from University of Science and Technology of China. He spent three years at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and Rice University as a postdoctoral research associate, and joined the Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2004. He was a group leader and the director of State Key Laboratory of Magnetism. In 2020, Prof. Sun joined the Center of Quantum Materials and Devices and School of Physics in Chongqing University. His research interests focus on magnetism and magnetic materials, including multiferroics and magnetoelectric effects, spintronics, strongly correlated electron systems, and ferromagnet/superconductor heterostructures. He has published more than 170 papers with a total citation over 5200. Prof. Sun is an editorial board member for several international journals such as Journal of Physics: Condensed Matter, Scientific Repots, and Science China – Physics Mechanics & Astronomy. He is a recipient of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars.
