报告摘要:We present a comprehensive and consistent derivation of the complete Wess-Zumino-Witten (WZW) interactions involving axions, including the essential counter-term required to ensure gauge invariance within the Standard Model framework. By treating the derivative of the axion field as a background gauge field and introducing auxiliary chiral rotation phases, we establish a robust and consistent formulation of the axion-interaction Lagrangian. This methodology enables us to derive basis-independent physical interactions of axions with gauge bosons, as well as scalar and vector mesons. The resulting interactions have wide-ranging implications for axion phenomenology, encompassing both light and heavy axion scenarios. These findings are particularly relevant for collider searches, early universe cosmology, and the production of axions in neutron stars, offering new insights into the role of axions in particle physics and astrophysics.

报告人介绍:刘佳,2006年本科毕业于清华大学,2009年硕士毕业于北京大学,2014年博士毕业于纽约大学,随后于德国美因茨大学和芝加哥大学从事博士后研究工作,于2020年加入北京大学物理学院。长期致力于粒子物理超出标准模型新物理研究,主要研究方向包括高能物理唯象学与粒子天体物理等领域。2020年入选国家海外高层次青年人才项目。近五年发表学术论文29篇,其中4篇《物理评论快报》(其中1篇Featured in Physics)及1篇《自然·通讯》(Nature Communications)并入选焦点论文,研究成果被APS Physics、Physics Today和Phys.org等多家媒体报道。
