Multifunctional perovskite oxide materials: ABO3

报告摘要:

Multiferroics possess simultaneously ferroelectric and ferromagnetic properties in the same phase and exhibit linear coupling; they have received much research interest due to both the basic physics and the number of potential multi-functional applications, such as nonvolatile memory elements, magnetic field sensors and actuators, nano-electronics, ferroelectric photovoltaics etc. In recent, magnetoelectric multiferroic materials and their devices are one of the highest priority research topics that has been investigated by the scientific community to develop the next generation of novel multifunctional materials. These multifunctional materials are quite interesting and generate strong magnetoelectric coefficients from cross coupling among various ferroic order parameters. The single-phase multiferroic that has been most studied in the last decade is BiFeO3 (BFO) due to its multiferroic and potential magnetoelectric properties. BFO is a fully recognized room temperature multiferroic that has all three ferroic order parameters - ferroelectric/ferroelastic (Tc = 1103 K), antiferromagnetic (TN = 643 K) and exhibits weak ferromagnetism at room temperature. Ion substitution is an alternative efficient way to induce the lattice distortion to improve the magnetoelectric properties. Here, we present the study structural, dielectric and ferroelectric properties of La and Ni co-doped BiFeO3. Along with this, we also see the structural and magnetic studies of pristine SmFeO3 nanocrystalline ceramic samples which were sintered at two different temperatures.

报告人简介:

Dr. Ashwini Kumar, India is currently a postdoctoral fellow at Southeast University, Nanjing from 2015.04. He graduated his Doctoral degree from Devi Ahilya University Indore - India in 2014. He was awarded by Fellowship from Madhya Pradesh Council of Science and Technology, Bhopal (India) for training of Young Scientist. His research is focused on novel multiferroic, spinel ferrites, as well as metal oxides materials. As a Principal Investigator, Dr. Kumar hosted several research grants such as Jiangsu Postdoctoral Research Fund Project and the National Natural Science Foundation of the Foreign Youth Fund Project and completed successfully. He is having several good collaborations at home and abroad. He has been published more than 25 SCI indexed research articles as well as papers citation more than 700 times.
