报告摘要:

Rare-earth-based orthoferrites RFeO3 (R = rare-earth element) are clearly of fundamental interest and technological importance for potential applications such as ultrafast photomagnetic recording, laser-induced ultrafast spin reorientation, non-thermal spin dynamics, inertia-driven spin switching, and multiferroics. The rare-earth orthoferrites RFeO3 crystallize in an orthorhombic distorted perovskite structure belonging to the Pbnm space group. We report physical properties of Eu-doped bulk TmFeO3 through X-ray diffraction, dc magnetic susceptibility (χ-1), Raman scattering and X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS) study, which shows similar orthorhombic structure with Pbnm space group as TmFeO3. The key significance of our results on Eu3+ doping in TmFeO3 lattice yield effectively a large spin-phonon coupling dependence below the spin-reorientation transition. We argue that this drastic change is because of Eu magnetic response during the spin-reorientation transition in TmFeO3. With these fascinating results for polycrystalline Tm0.5Eu0.5FeO3, motivate us to prepare a single crystal of Tm0.5Eu0.5FeO3 polycrystalline. In a mixed rare earth orthoferrite Tm0.5Eu0.5FeO3, single crystal in which we find magnetic field and temperature driven spin flip in spin reorientation temperature range of pure TmFeO3 to low temperature region. Our results provide a way for understanding more about magnetic properties like spin flip, magnetic anisotropy in RFeO3 single crystals.

Dr. Poorva Sharma born in India and presently working as an Assistant Professor at Department of Applied Physics, Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Nanjing. She also having 2 years postdoctoral experience from Department of Physics, International Centre of Quantum and Molecular Structures (ICQMS), Shanghai University, Shanghai. Her Ph.D. was awarded from Devi Ahilya University Indore – India in 2015. She was awarded by Fellowship from Madhya Pradesh Council of Science and Technology, Bhopal (India) for training of Young Scientist in 2014.03 and honoured by IUCr Young Scientist Award by the International Union of Crystallography (IUCr) in 2017.06. Her research is not mere a degree for her it is her passion as well as scholastic interest lies entirely on multiferroic, ferrites, manganite and metal oxides materials. Her research seeks to provide a solution for advanced sustainable and economical spintronics, memory devices, and magnetic data storage devices. She is also having strong and highly scholastic research collaboration. She has been author/co-author of more than 25 research papers at SCI indexed journals, as well as papers cited > 300 times.
